Pressure sensors: Air pressure sensors, Oil pressure sensors, Rail pressure sensors
The Exhaust Gas Pressure Sensor is a Differential Sensor measuring the pressure difference between gas in the intake and the outtake of the Particulate Filter. The outtake may be directly set to ambient pressure depending on the model.
In modern trucks and buses, oil pressure sensors monitor the oil pressure in the motor oil and transmission oil circuit. The measured pressures are recorded in real time in the control unit of the vehicle, evaluated and used to optimise engine parameters. The result is fuel-saving, low emission and more efficient egine operation.
The Fuel Rail Pressure Senson (RPS) is used on Common Rail Diesel and Direct Injection Petrol applications to provide the pressure reading in the fuel rail to the vehicles Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and is mounted in the fuel rail close to the injectors.
